Easy to prepare ‘make ahead’ breakfast casserole layered with ham, cheese, vegetables and eggs.
Overnight Vegetable Cheese Strata
Ingredients
1 (16-ounce) package frozen broccoli and cauliflower
7 slices wheat or white bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 cup diced cooked ham
8 eggs
1-1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
6-ounces shredded cheddar cheeseDirections
Lightly coat 13×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange frozen vegetables in bottom of prepared dish; sprinkle with bread cubes and ham. In medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, mustard, garlic powder and onion powder; mix well. Pour egg mixture over bread cubes and ham layer; sprinkle cheese evenly over top. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate 6 hours or overnight.Heat oven to 350°F. Remove plastic wrap from casserole; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cut into squares. 8 to 10 servings.
