Blackberry Peach Crisp
Take advantage of Summer’s fresh fruit with this easy to make Fruit Crisp made with a nutritional whole wheat and oat topping.
Blackberry Peach Crisp
Filling
2 cups fresh blackberries
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 cups sliced peaches or nectarinesTopping
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmegDirections
Heat oven to 375°F. Place blackberries in large bowl. Sprinkle with cornstarch; toss until well coated. Carefully stir in peaches. Place fruit mixture in ungreased 8×8x2-inch square baking dish.In medium bowl, mix together all topping ingredients until crumbly; sprinkle evenly over fruit mixture.
Bake at 375°F. for 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and fruit is tender.
TIP: 1 (14-ounce) bag frozen blackberries, thawed and drained, may be substituted for fresh blackberries.
